Your New Home
The staff of the Office of Orientation understands that your needs, as a transfer student, are unique. You are already familiar with a college or university environment and your concerns and questions are different from those of first year students. The most valuable services we can give you right now are time, resources and information. Therefore, our office has designed a program that allows you to set your own pace while providing the time needed to become acquainted with the specifics of Washington University.
Orientation is a time to connect to the university and meet the administrators, faculty, staff and current students who will begin to shape your Washington University experience.
Here are some pointers on making your transition to Washington University as seamlessly and as useful as possible:
- Attend TRANSFERmations this summer to register for classes, get information about housing and meet other new and returning transfer students.
- Make plans to attend the Transfer Welcome on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 5:30pm.
- The transfer student schedule highlights the orientation activities that are specifically designed to meet the needs of our transfer students. Please make note of any events in which your attendance is required.
- As a transfer student, you are welcome and encouraged to attend all Orientation events for new students. It is through these events that you will have the best opportunity to meet other transfer students, faculty, staff, and members of the first-year class.
- Each school has different requirements for admission of transfer students and transfer of credits. Please contact the school to which you have been admitted if you have specific questions about your transfer process.
